We start the wine route of Binissalem with its most important wineries. On the outskirts of Santa Maria going towards Consell, we find the winery Macià Batle. Since 2000 the national guide “Gourmet” has qualified the wine “Macià Batle Blanc de Blanc” as one of the best in Spain. It has 13 degrees, extracted from the Isleño Prensal Blanc/Moll branch, this wine has a fruity aroma. On the outskirts of Binissalem towards Consell we find the most well known representative of the Binissalem vineyard, José Luis Ferrer. Very good and well known as “Ferrer” for its reservas
and crianzas, the Veritas classic is rich in aroma, do not forget its Cavas. Visiting the bodega is an experience of its own. We continue towards Binissalem, town of the wine. In the centre of the town at nº 2 Ramon Llull Rd, we find the “Vins Nadal” winery. Here the modern technology merges with the knowledge of hundreds, maybe thousands, of years of traditional wine cultivation. We pay attention to the red wine “Albaflor Crianza” year 2001 settled for only 9 months, it obtains a balanced aroma that invites us to continue tasting. The “Merlot 110” that comes from the Manto Negro grape, contains also the French Merlot grape and reminds us of forest fruits. In the old part of the winery it is well worth, and very interesting, to visit the cellar built of typical Mallorcan stone, called marès.
Then we propose a lunch in a restaurant in the area to taste different wines and local cuisine.
